Where do I start my entrepreneurial journey?

Karl R. LaPan, President & CEO, The NIIC

You have so many ideas swimming around in your head, but you are unsure where to start. You have read a lot of different articles offering conflicting advice – do you need a business plan? Do you need to talk to potential partners and customers? Do you need to hire a lawyer to protect your idea? Or Should you find an investor?

What do you do first? The best thing you can do is to talk with an experienced business coach who can help you figure out what success looks like and guide you on your unique entrepreneurial journey. Call The NIIC at 260-407-6442 and ask for a meeting with a business coach (face-to-face or a video call).

You’re feeling overwhelmed and know there are a lot of things to do. Before you head down the path of incorporation or spending money on an attorney, you need to see the whole path in front of you. Make important go/no go decisions along the way before committing significant resources (like time and money) to make it happen.

Use this guide to shape your planning, focus your critical decisions, and determine whether a microenterprise is the right fit for you.
