Technology column: NIIC teaming with Ball State in national study

“Ball State University is working with the Northeast Indiana Innovation Center on a national research project the university has started in a search of ways technology-driven entrepreneurs can achieve more with their businesses through accelerated learning.
“This research is focused on founder learning behaviors, the role of entrepreneur coachability, and how startups can gain commitment from that first employee,” Matthew Marvel, the study’s principal investigator and director of the university’s Entrepreneurship Center, said in a statement. “We are unaware that this type of research exists.”
Thought leaders in entrepreneurship research and venture acceleration leading the Tech Startup Readiness Research Project include Marvel, Karl LaPan, Mark Long and Donald Kuratko, LaPan is NIIC’s president and CEO. Long directs University of Florida Incubation Services. Kuratko is the Jack M. Gill chair of entrepreneurship for Indiana University and entrepreneurship professor who directs the university’s Entrepreneurial Innovation Academy and serves as the executive and academic director of its Johnson Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation.”
