You have so many ideas swimming around in your head, but you are unsure where to start. You have read a lot of different information offering conflicting advice.

  • Do you need a business plan?
  • Do you need to talk to potential partners and customers?
  • Do you need to hire a lawyer to protect your idea?
  • Should you find an investor?

What do you do first? The best thing you can do is to talk with an experienced business coach. You can call the NIIC at 260-407-6442 to set-up a face-to-face meeting or a video call. He or she can help you figure out what success looks like and guide you on your unique entrepreneurial journey.

You may be confused or feeling overwhelmed and know there are a lot of things to do. Before you head down the path of incorporation or spending money on an attorney, you need to see the whole path in front of you. This will help you to make important go/no go decisions along the way before committing significant resources – time and money—to make it happen.

Use this guide to shape your planning, focus your critical decisions, and determine whether a microenterprise is a right fit for you.
